What is continuing to unfold in Oklahoma today — and has happened elsewhere in the past — is why I don't understand why people get excited about tornadoes. Cheering for a storm is like cheering on war. At best, someone loses property — a home, crops, livestock. At worst, people die.
Those who chase storms for scientific research or to keep locals informed are doing good. But those who treat it like a tourist thrill ride or to get on TV make me sick.
My thoughts are with the people in Oklahoma tonight.
